Monday, Walk in Messonghi

Messonghi

The sky is cloudy, so the lazy period cannot go on. We use the green bus to Messonghi and get out at the shopping mall. If one leaves the touristic turbulences behind one can find some nice and silent spots in this village. There is a river and some boats waiting for guests. Some people from Salzburg have told us some days before, that they have participated in a "Grotto Tour". That was a dull, cool and windy day. After 8 hours they came back from the sea super-cooled and had lost their speech for the next day. "The next boat trip will be on the Danube..." they say. To continue some disasters: another woman steps at Corfu City into an open gully. Now she walks around with gypsum and crooks. Another one is allergetic against the goat cheese. She is covered with blisters. Sun and salty water intensify this effect. Let your holiday be enjoyable...

But now we are at Messonghi at the sea, there is a narrow stripe of sand named Beach. Jonathan spreads handfulls of the sand about his head. Then we start for a walk along the coastal "dream road" known from my bike tour. And this is really a pleasure, walking one can study the flowers, small dogs or sea views more thoroughly.

Point of Return

We pass the point where I had to return and see a white church-like building ahead. This is named Agia Pelagia, everything private and entrance forbidden. At the other side of the street there are new built houses from Dutch architects. They are signed for sale. We walk back end enjoy it. We enter a nice tavern at the sea. There is a friendly dog and some junk around, good for a photo. We discuss about the fact, that not everything must be cleaned up and in a sterile state to generate some romantic impressions.

We return by bus and enter our market shop to get the first photos. We have to wait some time "Ten minutes" we are promised and get a glass of water. "Jammas" (cheers) and we sit at a garden table waiting. And after ten minutes the grocer's wife comes back from Benitses and brings the photos.
